Oman Refinery Company was commissioned with a refining capacity of 50,000 barrels per day to cater for the Oman’s local strategic demand of refined products. The Refinery produced 85,000 bbl/d after modifications that took place in 1987 and 2001. A revamp project in 2007 brought up its capacity to 106,000 bbl/d. A merger with Sohar Refinery Company was finalised in 2007.The new, merged company is called Oman Refineries and Petrochemical Company.
