In 2006, a state of the art cement facility was designed to meet the needs of the growing Florida market. Through the partnership of CRH’s Oldcastle Materials, Inc. and Trap Rock Industries, Inc., American Cement Company, LLC was formed. The Sumterville Plant was innovatively designed to be cost efficient and able to produce 1.2 million short tons of cement per year. With the use of cutting edge technology and the collective expertise of our employees we produce a high quality product that is distributed throughout Florida.
american-cement-facilityAmerican Cement Company, LLC is employing the latest in technological advancements in it’s manufacturing process so that we may deliver to our customers the highest quality cement on the market. It begins with our raw material grinding system designed with four independently controlled grinding rolls that allow us to target the exact fineness needed to produce a product called raw mix. The raw mix can then be burned efficiently and repeatedly to an exact specification.
Our latest generation in preheaters provides for a consistent thermo profile, which improves the quality of material as it enters the kiln. The external precalciner provides American Cement Company the ability to burn various fuels to help improve operations in order to create a stable kiln system and improved clinker product quality.
We are employing a time-tested 9000 HP ball mill equipped with a High Efficiency Separator to allow for the grinding of a high quality, consistent cement of varying types.
The Sumterville plant is controlled with a fiber optic connected PLC system from a central point. All equipment is monitored with exceptional response time through the process control system. Finally, our state-of-the art analytical equipment includes a Gamma Metrics online analyzer, ARL 9900 Xray Spectrograph, Spectro bench top analyzer, LECO elemental.
